South
Jersey’s premier rock station – 103.7 WMGM Rocks – and it’s
highly-popular morning-drive show, The Morning Edge with JoJo &
Scotty, are set to kick-off the area’s fourth annual OPERATION HELP
campaign, Saturday, Nov. 19, through Wednesday, Nov. 23rd from
Chickie’s & Pete’s in Egg Harbor Twp, NJ. The five-day event, which
will include almost 50 hours of live broadcasts hosted byMorning Edge
personalities JoJo Borsello and Scotty Reilly, is set to be the
region’s longest holiday donation-drive, benefiting The Atlantic City
Rescue Mission and The Food Bank of South Jersey charities.Best known for being provocative, unpredictable and funny, The Morning Edge team will put their talents to good use this Thanksgiving season and camp out for a cause in an RV motor home, provide by Driftwood RV, outside Chickie’s & Pete’s for five days. JoJo and Scotty will be urging listeners, local business owners and community members to stop by the 103.7 WMGM Rocks’ “Operation Help” tent with food, clothing, toys, furniture and monetary donations, where they will be accepted 24-hours a day.
Continuing to grow its success year after year, last year’s Operation Help campaign provided over 30 18-ft truckloads of clothing, food and toys for local families in need and raised thousands in cash donations. Past sponsors and regional supporters have included NBC 40, The Press of Atlantic City, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Trump Taj Mahal, Resorts Atlantic City, The Hub and McAllister, as well as area schools, police and fire departments. The Operation Help initiative was founded by Reilly and Borsello four years ago as a way to give back to local folks who need help – especially during the holidays.
“Scotty & JoJo are known for being funny and a little edgy, but they have earned the reputation for being two of the most community-driven radio personalities in the South Jersey market,” said Vice President of Broadcast Operations, Paul Kelly. “They’ve spearheaded the Operation Help initiative over the last four years, and WMGM Rocks is now excited to be a part of this great charity event, which benefits two very worthy local charities - The Atlantic City Rescue Mission and The Food Bank of South Jersey.”
The Dining Yenta: The Palm Restaurant Review
Posted on August 12, 2011 by The Dining Yenta
So
my hubby and I were coming up with ideas on where to spend our 48th
wedding anniversary. A few of our favorite places came to mind to
start, and as we narrowed down the list to a handful of eateries we
both kept repeating the same restaurant
over and over again... The Palm at the Tropicana Casino & Resort. After all those years of marriage, we tend to think alike, especially when it comes to eating. I guess our love of food and wine has probably been one of the main things that has kept us going strong all these years. To me, a good meal shared with others, especially your significant other, brings people together.
Not only did we agree on where we would eat, we also decided what we would eat, thanks to The Palm's terrific Summer Lobster Dinner for Two promotion.
Every so often The Palm offers a succulent Jumbo Nova Scotia Lobster Split for Two with melted butter and lemon. It comes with a starter salad, and sides for a pretty reasonable $95 price (not including tax and tip).

My Thoughts on Pacquiao vs. Marquez
Posted on November 16, 2011 by Brittany A. Rogers
When
I was watching the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez fight Saturday
night, I felt like I was watching my favorite hockey team blow a 5-3
lead in the third period by backing off and watching the clock after
having played so well throughout the game. When Pacquiao and Marquez met the first time on May 8, 2004 in Las Vegas, NV, they fought a war and the fight was scored a 12-round draw. In their second bout, on Mar. 15, 2008 in Las Vegas, Pacquiao was awarded a controversial split decision. In their third bout on Saturday, Pacquiao again won, this time by majority decision. Certain fighters give other certain fighters a hard time. It’s as if someone has your number, so to speak. I think Marquez has Pacquiao’s number and will always give him a tough fight.
When Shane Mosley boxed Pacquiao earlier this year, he exposed Pacquiao in ways that few fans expected. Mosley fought defensively that night and even though Pacquiao won, he looked uncomfortable.
The third bout between Marquez and Pacquiao was unlike their first two brawls. Did Mosley’s exposure of Pacquiao cause this fight to be less of a brawl? Marquez fought a more defensive fight and Pacquiao, perhaps not expecting this, clearly could not adapt.
