The 9th annual Chefs at the
Shore benefit will be held on Thursday,
June 21, 2012 from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the Atlantic City Aquarium in
Historic Gardner’s Basin.The fundraising event is part of Professional Chefs Week, and is held in conjunction with the Professional Chefs Association of South Jersey, a local chapter of the American Culinary Federation.
As usual, celebrity and well-known chefs will make their appearance at this fundraising event. Chefs at the Shore also will feature local celebrity chefs from casino and regional restaurants. Each chef will bring a signature dish to share. The menu covers the full range, including seafood, meat, vegetarian and even gluten-free.
Scheduled for Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Atlantic City Aquarium in Historic Gardner’s Basin, Chefs at the Shore is part of Professional Chefs Week.
The Professional Chefs Association will use funds from the event to support its scholarship program to help aspiring chefs find careers in the field. The Professional Chefs Association is a local chapter of the American Culinary Federation.

Cold Spring Village is featuring all things fiber arts at its ‘Spin to
Stitch’ weekend, to be held June 23rd and 24th. Open from 10am
until 4:30 both days, the event features demonstrations and vendors of
all fiber arts including, quilting, spinning, weaving, knitting,
basketry, lace & rug making. To honor Cape May’s early
industry tradition of mittens; all guests will receive $3 off one adult
admission with the donation of a pair of hand-knit mittens. This
event is sponsored by The Chatlos Foundation.2012 marks the 27th year for viewer’s choice quilt show. Visitors may vote for their favorite quilts on Saturday or see the results on Sunday in Welcome Center. Yesteryear Quilters will present a quilt ‘hand-turning’, in period clothing, to demonstrate techniques of the 19th century throughout the day at the Gazebo. Try your hand at quilting or knitting on the Country Store Porch, and take-home craft projects are featured throughout the Village.
Weekend special events will run until mid-September. Fun and educational activities for children are featured Tuesday through Sunday from late June to Labor Day. Historic Cold Spring Village is a non-profit Early American open-air living history museum located at 720 Route 9, three miles north of Victorian Cape May and four miles south of Rio Grande, exit 4A from the Garden State Parkway. Hours of operation are 10am-4:30pm. Admission during the season is $10 for adults, and $8 for children ages 3-12. Children under 3 are admitted free. The Ice Cream Parlor and Bakery are open for business, as well at the Country Store which features a new line of heritage goods. for runners who are looking for a challenging and fun small to mid-size
competition.Runners from across the nation and the world are discovering what many locals have known for years. This is a great race with a stunning, seaside course. Imagine views of the beach and the ocean beyond as you run along the boardwalk, pass the whimsical Lucy the Elephant and finish at Atlantic City’s Historic Boardwalk Hall.

Not quite up for a full marathon? This race offers something for everyone, with a marathon, a half-marathon, 10K, 5K Run/Walk and a Kids Fun Run.
